Ragini Dwivedi on five days police remand in drugs case

On Monday, Bengaluru sessions court remanded Ragini Dwivedi to five-day police custody while the Central Crime Branch (CCB) had asked the court to grant 10 days of custody. The application was submitted to the 1st Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate. Ragini Dwivedi was presented before the magistrate via video conference. The CCB claimed that Ragini needs to be questioned regarding her role in the drug case.

The CCB also claimed to the court that Ragini had erased all messaging apps and chat history on her cell phone and that her intentions were not to help CCB in the investigation. They wanted to find out dates and the places where the parties were held. They also wanted to know who sold the drugs and who consumed them. The CCB also said that they needed time to question on her financials also. While on the other hand, Ragini’s counsel said to the court that Ragini had been dragged because she’s a celebrity and this is just a move to defame her. Ragini’s counsel clearly said though Ragini had attended the parties but never had drugs. Ragini’s lawyer withdrew the anticipatory bail plea and filed a new application for conditional bail. The decision on the application is yet to be taken.

Earlier Ragini was arrested on Friday by the Central Crime Branch. The actress is alleged of attending high-end parties and consuming drugs in those parties. Viren Khanna, a high profile party planner, has also been arrested by CCB. Meanwhile, the cops said that Ragini’s friend Ravi Shankar, the clerk at the RTO office in Jayanagar, and another person named Rahul Shetty who is a the real estate businessman and architect, will not be turned into witnesses, but would be considered as accused.
