The much-awaited movie 'Mersal' is all ready to release this week the movie starrer Vijay, moreover, the movie's songs and trailers plus posters have been a good feedback by fans and Tamil superstars. Days before the release, the actor met Tamil Nadu chief minister E Palaniswami on Sunday in Chennai. As, per the reports of IB Times, the actor Vijay met the chief minister to thank him for reducing the local entertainment tax from 10 percent to 8 percent, but rumours are a rift that he requested the chief minister to help in the smooth release of the film. Mersal, like a host of other big Tamil releases of late, the movie faced trouble. The regional censor board refused to issue a certificate citing that it is still to receive a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Animal Welfare Board of India for using some animals and birds in the film. Mersal is the second movie which is directed by Atlee Kumar and Vijay are coming together for a movie after their film 'There' which was released in the year 2016. The film will have Vijay in a triple role -- as a panchayat head, a magician and as a doctor. The film features three leading ladies -- Nithya Menen, Samantha Akkineni and Kajal Aggarwal.
