Kabul: In a heartbreaking turn of events, an Afghan national team footballer, Zaki Anwari, died in a fall from a US plane at Kabul airport on Monday, the Afghan news agency Ariana said on Thursday. Crowds of people seeking to flee Afghanistan have thronged the airport since Taliban insurgents swept to power on Sunday. Ariana said Zaki Anwari fell from a USAF Boeing C-17 and that the death had been confirmed by the General Directorate for Sport. Anwari was one of 1000s of Afghans who flocked to the Hamid Karzai International Airport on Monday, the day after the Taliban captured the Afghan capital, hoping to get on a plane out of the country. He reportedly climbed onto a C-17 plane that was about to depart from Kabul. Zaki Anwari's remains were said to have been found aboard the US Air Force C-17 transport plane. Hundreds of Afghans were seen crowding the US Air Force jet as it took off from the runway. Some managed to hang on to the wheels of the flight or sat on the wings, only to fall to their deaths from the sky. New videos from the Kabul airport have come out showing women crying for help from outside the gates and barbed wires, pleading the troops to let them in. In the video, the women are heard saying, “Help us, the Taliban are coming.” Joe Biden Admin suspends all arms sales to Afghanistan government Indonesia and Thailand launch cross-border QR payment linkage German Government approves USD 35 billion flood relief fund
