After 18 years of marriage, Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner are divorcing.

Kevin Costner and his wife Christine Baumgartner are ending their 18-year marriage. “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action,” Costner’s representative told “We ask that his, Christine’s and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”

Kevin and Christine, a handbag desinger and former model, During their nearly 20 years of marriage, they welcomed three kids: Cayden, Hayes, and Grace. In the early 2000s, the couple notably dated on and off. Their romance ended in 2002 because Christine wanted children while Kevin already had four children from prior marriages.

At his expansive Aspen, Colorado ranch, they were wed on September 25, 2004, in a lavish but private ceremony. After that, the couple joyfully received their first child, Cayden, in May of 2007. Two further children were then added in 2009 and 2010. Even with his first set of children being 26 years apart from his second, Kevin said there was more than enough love to go around as his life came full circle.

Carla Silva was the first wife of Mr. Costner. Prior to their 1994 divorce, he and Ms. Silva were married for 16 years and shared three children. After having a son in 1996 with Bridget Rooney, he wed Ms. Baumgartner at his Colorado residence eight years later.

Both Ms. Baumgartner and Costner, it has been reported, are requesting shared custody of their kids. According to a document submitted by Mr. Costner's counsel, Ms. Baumgartner will be "payable to petitioner pursuant to the terms of the parties' Premarital Agreement" rather than pursuing spousal support.
