After Britney Spears' conservatorship ends, her father asks for her to pay his legal fees

After being suspended as her conservator and having her conservatorship revoked, Britney Spears' father has allegedly filed court documents requesting reimbursement of his legal bills from the singer. Britney's lawyer, according to Variety, termed the request a "abomination." According to sources, Jamie requested a judicial ruling in court filings filed last week.

Spears' father has gone to court to ask for permission to pay the lawyers who are "engaging in proceedings involving Jamie's ongoing fiduciary obligations linked to winding up" the conservatorship with his daughter's estate. It should be emphasised that the legal bills for her father, who served as her conservator, were paid from Britney's assets throughout the conservatorship, including her own when she tried to end the 13-year conservatorship.

Britney's lawyer, Matthew Rosengart, responded to her father's request for payment of his legal fees by saying, "Mr. Spears was ignominiously suspended once the conservatorship was terminated. In the circumstances, his petition is not only legally ineffective, but it is also an outrage."

Spears' father, who had been overseeing his famous daughter's conservatorship since 2008, was suspended by a judge in September, and Britney was finally proclaimed free of the conservatorship arrangement in November. Britney has been more active on social media since her conservatorship was terminated, and she has called out her family on multiple occasions for placing her in this predicament.

Spears has stated that being proclaimed free has brought her tiny delights such as having access to her own ATM card and being able to drive her own vehicle. The singer just celebrated her 40th birthday and went on a trip with her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, to commemorate the occasion.
