After 'foreign' economic advisors, PMO took over the command of the nation to formulate policy

Since coming to power in 2014, so far, three 'foreign' consultants who have stayed in various positions in the Modi government have left. In such a situation, it seems that the government is now returning to its indigenous agenda. Raghuram Rajan, Arvind Panghadiya and Arvind Subramanian were all three economic experts who worked very well in the US global economic policies. Several government officials, advocates on policy issues, and members of the BJP say that the PMO itself is now in command of the policy formulation.

With the advice of the party and the union, the government is making decisions on the basis of the advice of nationalist economists. The focus of the government is on the protection of domestic industries rather than free trade and liberal policies and policies of farmers. This is exactly like the agenda of US President Donald Trump, who is paying attention to the industries these days. The finance ministry spokesman refused to comment on this whole issue. The PMO did not even answer the questions related to it.

After the Modi government came to power, Raghuram Rajan, who advocated the privatization of banks, had been appointed as Governor of the Reserve Bank. After the end of his term in 2016, he returned to the University of Chicago. At the same time, Arvind Pangariya, Vice President, Policy Commission advocating GM crops, returned to Columbia University in 2017. They were on study holidays. At the same time, Chief Economic Advisor Arvind Subramanian, who worked with the International Monetary Fund, also said goodbye for spending time with his family, citing research and writing.

Ashwini Mahajan, chief of the Mahajan Swadeshi Jagran Manch, says that we hope that after the departure of Arvind, the government will give preference to the concerns of domestic experts. Mahajan said that due to the arrival of foreign advisers, the country will not suffer anything.
