After the defeat in the T20 World Cup, BCCI sacked all the selectors

New Delhi: Team India had to face an embarrassing defeat in the T20 World Cup 2022. After this, there was a demand for changes in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Now the BCCI has sacked all its selectors and invited fresh applications.  

BCCI has also listed the criteria for application:- 

A) 7 Test matches; or b) 30 first-class matches; or C) 10 ODIs and 20 first-class matches. D) The person applying retired five years ago.  

Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma, had to face an embarrassing defeat by 10 wickets in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022. Now the BCCI sacked the four-member senior national selection committee led by Chetan Sharma. Chetan Sharma (North Zone), Harvinder Singh (Central Zone), Sunil Joshi (South Zone), and Debashish Mohanty (East Zone) have been removed. Some of these selectors were appointed in the year 2020.

Any person who has been a member of any cricket committee (defined in BCCI rules and regulations) for a total of 5 years will not be eligible to become a member of the men's selection committee. Applications can be made till 6 pm on November 28, 2022.
