AIIMS Bhubaneswar will reopen its OPD Service on February 7th

BHUBANESWAR: With the improvement in the Covid-19 situation in Odisha, officials at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar announced on Friday that the OPD service will resume on February 7.

The number of Covid cases in the state has decreased recently, and there has been pressure from various sources to reinstate the walk-in OPD service. As a result, this decision was made, according to an official. The institution's departments have been told to stick to the same OPD schedule as before. For the new admittance cases, each department has set aside 4-5 beds in each ward (suspected Covid cases).

Patients' routine check-ups will, however, continue as before via the AIIMS Bhubaneswar Swasthya mobile app and telemedicine. All IPD admissions and OTs will operate normally (pre-Covid era). According to them, the Covid labour room will remain open for another week.

Following a spike in Covid-19 instances in Odisha, the OPD service at the state's top medical institutes was briefly banned on January 17 this year.

Meanwhile, on Friday, Odisha reported 2,697 new Covid cases, bringing the total number of current cases to 30,493.
