AIIMS Warning- Cold and Pollution will increase risk of corona

Dehradun: According to AIIMS Rishikesh, the cases of coronavirus must have come down, but the virus is yet to be completely eliminated. The crisis of coronavirus will also increase due to severe colds and increased pollution in the near future. In such a situation, wearing masks and incorporating the habit of washing hands into the routine is the only way to prevent it.

The MET department has predicted severe cold wave conditions in north India this year. The temperature is likely to fall to a minimum level of 3 degrees. Due to Deepawali, air pollution due to firecrackers has reached alarming levels. Dr Santosh Kumar, nodal officer of social outreach cell, AIIMS Rishikesh, says cold and pollution affect the respiratory system. Corona infection also directly attacks the lungs. After Deepawali, pollution has increased on a large scale in many parts of the country including Uttarakhand.

The same MET department has predicted an increase in the cold conditions due to the La Nina effect. In such a situation, double attack of cold and pollution and ignorance of corona rules can increase coronavirus. Dr Santosh Kumar said that people have become careless about washing their hands after touching masks and surfaces. Dr Santosh Pant said that it is very important to wear masks even after vaccination. The mask will protect against both corona infection and pollution. He said cases of cold will also increase in the coming days. If there are symptoms of cold, people should not forget that they have been vaccinated so there cannot be corona.
