According to information received from Air India, data of some people has been leaked from the company's data processor company Sita Passenger Service System. The personal data of passengers has leaked their name, date of birth, mobile number, address, passport number, ticket information, data of star alliance and air india frequent flyers and credit card information. It is being reported that air India's passenger service system has been hit by a cyber attack on data of 45 lakh passengers from across the world registered between 26th August, 2011 and 3rd February, 2021. While Air India received its first information on 25th February, 2021. Air India has clarified that passengers' credit card data has not been leaked along with their CVV number or CVC number, as well as the password data of frequent flyers. the Air India has ordered an inquiry into the matter. Last year, two Air India aircraft received a terror threat. The threat was made by Khalistan Commando Force terrorist Gurupatwant Singh Pannu.
