Air India flight's tyre burst, flight from Kathmandu to Delhi canceled

New Delhi: A major plane crash was averted. This time the case is from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The tyre of a New Delhi-bound flight exploded before take-off on Friday. After this, the flight was canceled as a precautionary measure. An official has given information in this regard. According to the official, there were a total of 173 people on board the aircraft.

The plane was scheduled to take off from Kathmandu's Tribhuvan Airport for New Delhi at 4.30 pm local time, the official said. An Air India duty officer confirmed that flight AI 216 suffered a tyre burst before its departure.

There were 164 passengers and nine crew members on board. The Airbus 320 aircraft was diverted from the runway to the parking area after the tyre burst, he said. The official said the Air India flight will be rescheduled for Saturday after the completion of necessary repairs. The official has said that if the tyre burst after taking off, then a major accident could have happened.
