New Delhi: Private-sector budget airline company AirAsia India plans to add more than 17 aircraft to its fleet this fiscal. AirAsia India already has 23 aircraft, now it will add 17 more aircraft to it. According to the company's COO Sanjay Kumar, upon completion of 5 years of flying domestically with a fleet of 23 aircraft, we are expecting to get relevant clearance for our international operations plan. He said that we are adding about 17 aircraft to our fleet by FY 19-20.

In addition, the airline plans to connect domestic destinations to establish its strong presence in the northern and southern parts of India. Kumar said that we have plans to expand our network across India. The company plans to start flights from New Delhi to Jaipur and Agartala. On 20 September, the airline commenced additional flights from New Delhi to Kolkata. The airline started daily flights between New Delhi and Chennai in August. Currently, AirAsia India has a fleet of 23 aircraft covering 20 destinations across the country.
