New Delhi: In a groundbreaking move, Airbus has joined hands with the prestigious Indian Institute of Management in Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) to uplift aviation expertise in India. The collaboration aims to equip professionals with specialized skills through Airbus Beyond programs, thereby strengthening the country's aerospace sector. The agreement, signed by Prof. Manoj K Tiwari, Director of IIM Mumbai, and Remi Maillard, President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia, marks a new chapter in skill development within the aviation industry. As per the deal, IIM Mumbai will offer short-term courses covering various aspects of the sector, including aviation logistics, supply chain management, operations excellence, cargo handling, strategic procurement, business analytics, and digitization. Remi Maillard, President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia, reiterated Airbus' dedication to nurturing India's aviation potential through consistent and proficient endeavors. He underscored the importance of partnering with IIM Mumbai to develop comprehensive programs for aerospace education and skill enhancement in the country, thus cultivating a pool of talent ready for the industry. Tiwari praised the collaboration as a significant stride towards excellence in aviation management development. Under the agreement, IIM Mumbai will conduct courses, enroll students, and provide infrastructure and logistical support. Airbus will initially supply trainers and training materials from the Airbus Beyond catalog for short-term courses. Subsequently, both parties will work together to develop long-term courses and certify trainers, enhancing skill development at both executive and frontline levels.
