Airtel Reports Highest Ever Quarterly Revenue, Stock shimmer

Shares of Bharti Airtel Ltd on Wednesday closed at Rs 611.90  per share, higher by 2.09 percent as compared to the previous close of Rs. 599.35 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), while Sensex climbed at 50,255.75, up by 458 points and the Nifty settled at 14789, up by 142 points in trade.

Earning Results: On Wednesday, Bharti Airtel posted a 24 percent year-on-year increase in its consolidated revenue to Rs 26,518 crore for the December-ended quarter. The company said in a regulatory filing that it was its highest ever consolidated quarterly revenue.

Bharti Airtel's revenue from India's business grew 25.1 percent year-on-year to Rs 19,007 crore during the quarter under review, while its mobile services revenues from India's business increased 32.4 percent on the back of strong customer additions. The overall business rose 9.2 percent year-on-year, led by strong demand for connectivity and solutions.

The Company posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 854 crore for the December-ended quarter. The Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), a primary way to gauge the performance among telecom operators, increased to Rs 166 in the December-ended quarter against Rs 135 for the corresponding period last year.
