Ajay Devgn's father Veeru Devgan aka renowned action choreographer passes away

Ajay Devgn's father and veteran action director Veeru Devgn has passed away . The renowned action choreographer, who has been a part of several hit movies, passes away in Mumbai.

 An official statement from the family confirmed that  Veeru passed away on this morning, May 27. The funeral is scheduled to take place at 6 pm in Mumbai’s Vile Parle West crematorium. The cause of death is still unknown.

The director was admitted to Surya hospital, Santacruz as he complained of breathlessness, this morning. Veeru Devgn has helmed the 1999 film 'Hindustan Ki Kasam' starring his son Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan.

Veeru has worked in over 80 movies to choreograph for stunts scenes. He was a part of movies Mr India, Lal Badshaah, Himmatwala, Mr. Natwarlal, Kranti, Shahenshah (1988), Tridev (1989), and many other movies. He also worked on Ajay's debut movie Phool Aur Kaante which featured the famous scene of Ajay entering on two bikes.

He also  made his directorial debut in 1999 with his son, Ajay, in the movie Hindustan Ki Kasam. The movie featured Amitabh, Manisha Koirala and Sushmita Sen as well. The movie did not work its magic at the box office and turned out to be Veeru's sole directorial movie of his Bollywood career.
