Lucknow, UP Chief Minister Akhilesh met with the SP supremo Mulayam Singh to convey his displeasure over the candidates' list for the coming polls. Here the factional feud of the yadav's family and in the Samajwadi Party is in the open, with more heat. Yesterday, on Dec. 28, Mulayam Singh Yadav declared candidates for 325 assembly seats out of the the total of 403, in a press conference. He also ruled out projecting Akhilesh as the Chief Ministerial candidate. As the after effact of this event, today Akhilesh had a meeting with his supporters and then with Mulayam Singh. As per the media reports, he expressed clearly his displeasure for ignoring his submitted list of candidates. Akhilesh was much upset when he met his supporters at his residence at 5-Kalidas Marg. After that, he went to talk to his father and party supremo Mulayam Singh to convey his displeasure over the candidate's list from which names of his favourites were missing and names of some leaders, over which he had objected were included. It was a day of hectic political activities right from the early morning; as number of party leaders gathered outside the residences of Akhilesh and Mulayam as well as Shivpal Yadav's residence. The fresh point of conflict is the list announced by Mulayam and Shivpal in the absence of Akhilesh, which includes 176 sitting MLAs but has left out many pro-Akhilesh ministers like Ram Govind Chaudhary, Pawan Pandey and Arvind Singh Gope along with over 50 sitting MLAs. Besides, 10 ministers, who were earlier sacked by the chief minister, including Shivpal, got tickets. Just after few hours of yesterday's press conference of Mulayam and Shivpal, Akhilesh had reacted last night "The list does not include names of certain candidates who are sure to win. I will take it up with the SP chief and tell him that some of them have done really good work and they should be given tickets," In addition to this, as a tit-for-tat action, the Chief Minister sacked the two Shivpal loyalists from the minister equivalent positions, viz. Surabhi Shukla from the post of vice-chairperson of UP Awas Vikas Parishad and her husband Sandeep Shukla from the post of advisor of Rajkiya Nirman Nigam.
