Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday appealed to all his party leaders to be on alert to get themselves vaccinated and protect themselves from coronavirus infection. A few months ago, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had raised controversy by saying that he would not get the 'BJP vaccine.' However, in the wake of the devastation caused by the second wave of the corona, Akhilesh changed the stand and said he was not referring to scientists. Former CM Akhilesh Yadav had said that he had full faith in doctors but not the government. He had appealed to the people to believe only the words of doctors, not UP CM Yogi Adityanath. According to a statement issued by SP chief spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary, 'Akhilesh Yadav appealed to everyone to get themselves vaccinated in the meeting. He has asked party workers to be alert to protect themselves from coronavirus.' The meeting was attended by SP National General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav and veteran leaders to discuss political and economic situations. Akhilesh Yadav also reviewed the party's preparedness for the 2022 assembly elections.
