Akhilesh Yadav to take Vijay Rath Yatra on Purvanchal Expressway Today

Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's inauguration of the Purvanchal Expressway on Tuesday, November 16, set the stage for a political brawl in Uttar Pradesh's next election, as both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the opposition Samajwadi party (SP) claimed credit for the project.

In response to the BJP's Tuesday inauguration, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said that on Wednesday, November 17, that he will organise a Vijay Rath Yatra on the Purvanchal Expressway.

Akhilesh Yadav said the Samajwadi party government completed the Agra Expressway in 22 months, whereas the BJP government is inaugurating the Purvanchal Expressway, which is still under construction. He even stated that the public is aware that the expressway's quality has been compromised and would not be mislead.

Akhilesh Yadav will take out Vijay Rath Yatra on Purvanchal Expressway on Thursday also as per reports. The SP head will hold Sabhas at several sites along the road. From Ghazipur to Lucknow, his Vijay Rath Yatra would take place.

Earlier today, before of PM Modi's inauguration, some Samajwadi Party workers rode on the expressway and showered flowers on it in a symbolic 'inaugural.' On the same day as the PM's event, SP workers cycled to various spots along the freeway to conduct the inauguration.
