Akhilesh Yadav demands state governments should decide on board examinations like CBSE

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday made a special demand on board exams. He said state boards should also take decisions on board examinations like CBSE. He demanded this on the second day of the Central Government's decision to cancel the board examinations of class XII CBSE amid the Covid-19 epidemic.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav tweeted, "Finally, the insensitive BJP government had to succumb to pressure from examinees and parents and decided to cancel the CBSE 12th examination. Other Boards and State Boards should also be cancelled. He said there should be no examination without vaccination".

Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma had said in a statement on Tuesday that it was in the interest of students, parents and teachers to cancel the examination. He also said a decision on the UP Secondary Board class XII exam will be taken soon after a meeting with CM Yogi Adityanath. PM Modi had led a review meeting on class XII board examinations of CBSE.
