Akshay posts fascinating images of first group of NDA women cadets

MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who most recently appeared in the film "Ram Setu," shared a photo of the first group of female cadets attending the National Defense Academy (NDA).

The actor posted the image to his Twitter feed with the following caption: "The image is really interesting! the first group of female cadets to ever attend the National Defense Academy in Khadakwasla. More strength to you, ladies! God's grace." Cadets aspiring to be officers in the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force train at NDA, the first tri-service academy in the world, which is situated in Khadakvasla, Pune. The cadets move on to their respective service academies for additional pre-commission training after finishing their programme.

The first batch of female cadets accepted into the NDA this year in June has a strength of 19. (10 for the Army, six for the Air Force and three for the Navy). This group of students, who are enrolled in the 148th course, will graduate in May 2025.

Returning to Akshay, the "Hera Pheri" actor found 2022 to be rather disappointing as none of his four theatrical movies this year--"Bachchhan Paandey," "Samrat Prithviraj," "Raksha Bandhan," and "Ram Setu" -- met public expectations. Selfiee, a Hindi version of the Malayalam comedy drama "Driving Licence," and "OMG 2," the follow-up to the wildly successful "OMG - Oh My God!" likewise the Hindi version of the Tamil drama "Soorarai Pottru," which took its cue from Capt. G.R. Gopinath, the man responsible for the introduction of low-cost airlines in India.
