Alcohol Is Available, But Clean Water Isn't? PM Modi Slams AAP During 'Mera Booth Sabse Majboot'

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted through video conferencing with BJP booth-level workers in New Delhi under the "Mera Booth Sabse Majboot" programme. His address aimed to inspire and prepare the party cadre for the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for February 5.

Speaking to BJP workers from 13,033 booths across 256 wards in the capital, PM Modi emphasized the importance of connecting with voters at the grassroots level. "This initiative, 'Mera Booth Sabse Majboot,' is not just a programme; it is the lifeline of our party’s success and expansion," he remarked, highlighting the crucial role of booth-level workers.

PM Modi praised their efforts in securing all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi in previous elections and urged them to set even higher goals. "Our aim is not just to win but to break voter turnout records and secure over 50% of votes in every booth," he stated.

The Prime Minister encouraged workers to showcase the welfare schemes of the Central government while addressing what he referred to as the "disaster" caused by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). "The people of Delhi are frustrated with AAP's empty promises, scandals, and failures. Women, in particular, are voicing their desire for change," he added.

PM Modi accused AAP of neglecting the basic needs of Delhi residents, including access to clean drinking water. "In spite of more than a decade in power, the Aam Aaadmi Party government has failed to address key issues. They invested in building lavish facilities, but people still struggle for clean water," he said. Referring to the alleged water tanker mafia, he noted, "AAP's priorities are misplaced. Today, alcohol is easily available, but clean water is not."

He also criticized AAP for refusing to implement the Centre's Ayushman Bharat scheme, which provides health insurance to millions. "This shows their lack of concern for the welfare of Delhi residents," he said.

During the session, BJP worker Sundar Choudhary from Shahdara shared feedback from slum dwellers who, under the BJP’s "Jahan Jhuggi Wahan Makaan" initiative, expressed hope for a brighter future. PM Modi responded by accusing AAP of betraying public trust, much like the Congress party before them.

The Prime Minister also criticized the AAP government's inability to clean the Yamuna River despite promises made years ago. "Every year, during Chhath Puja, the condition of the Yamuna shocks the nation. AAP leaders had vowed to clean the river in five years but failed to deliver. Now, they falsely claim it has been cleaned," he said.

PM Modi urged BJP workers to use video clips of AAP's unfulfilled promises as part of their campaign, urging voters to reject the party in the upcoming elections. "AAP has neglected Delhi’s roads, sewage systems, parks, and parking facilities. They have failed to meet even the basic expectations of governance," he said.

The event saw the participation of senior BJP leaders, including Delhi election in-charge Baijayant Panda, co-incharges Alka Gurjar and Atul Garg, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, as well as several MPs, MLAs, and councillors.

With PM Modi’s motivating address, the BJP cadre appears reinvigorated for a tough electoral contest.
