Alert: Free Aadhaar Card Renewal Ends Soon, Govt Deadline Looms

The Aadhaar card, serving as the primary identity document for every citizen, holds mandatory status for various governmental transactions. Have you ensured your Aadhaar details are up to date? The government has announced the imminent conclusion of the free renewal period for Aadhaar cards.

The deadline for availing the complimentary renewal service for Aadhaar cards is rapidly approaching this week. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) recommends a renewal every ten years to uphold accurate information within Aadhaar. To guarantee accuracy, UIDAI mandates periodic updates. The opportunity for free renewal remains open until December 14, 2023—merely three days away.

The complimentary service for Aadhaar card renewal is exclusively accessible via the myAadhaar portal, enabling online updates without charges. However, a nominal fee of 50 units will be levied for offline renewals processed directly at Aadhaar centers.

Online modifications encompass demographic details like name, date of birth, and address. For updates involving elements such as photos, biometrics, or iris scans, individuals must visit Aadhaar centers in person.
