Alexa will soon Speak like Anyone You Want

Amazon is aiming to give Alexa a more humane touch. Alexa, amazon’s highly successful device will soon have a brand new feature, where the device which currently has a robotic voice feature will soon be able to modify its voice to a customized one, giving it a humane touch.

Senior Vice President of the company Rohit Prasad informed about the new feature during a press conference. He said, “The goal is to make the memories last after so many of us have lost someone we love during the pandemic.”

The idea soon received backlash from certain netizens, to which the company replied by clarifying that the management has no plans of introducing Artificial Intelligence with the news features, unlike its competitors, such as Google and Elon Musk’s Open AI.

The company is yet to announce the release date of this feature. Many have already raised their concerns regarding the misuse of this feature such as the propagation of political deepfake, which will force the company to contemplate added security features to minimize the misuse of this particular feature before its release to the public.

The pilot project demonstrated the quick response of Alexa in which it could mimic a child’s deceased grandmother within seconds, with the help of a video. The child said, “Alexa, can grandma finish reading me the Wizard of Oz?” in the video, to which after a paise, Alexa confirmed the order and raise her voice a few seconds afterward. She talked in a more calming, less robotic voice, pretending to sound like the child’s actual grandmother.
