All Party meeting concluded with “We stand united in solidarity with our security forces in fighting terrorism”

The Centre on Saturday held an all-party meeting, chaired by Rajnath Singh, to brief all political parties regarding the recent developments and the future course of action. Mortal remains of the fallen soldiers were brought to their respective hometown, where hundred showed up to pay their respects. 

On Friday the nation bid a teary goodbye to the 40 CRPF jawans who were martyred in the dastardly Pulwama attack two days ago, when a suicide bomber had rammed his explosive-laden car into the bus of a CRPF convoy on Srinagar-Jammu highway. The mortal remains of the fallen soldiers were airlifted from Srinagar by the Indian Air Force (IAF) and brought to New Delhi on Friday evening.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the three service chiefs as well as several other politicians, including Congress President Rahul Gandhi paid homage to the martys at Palam airport in the national capital. Meanwhile, the NDA government have vowed to avenge the cowardly attack, with PM Modi stating that the security forces have been given “free hand” to decide on their response to the attack and that perpetrators of Pulwama would “pay a heavy price.”

On Saturday the all-party meeting decided on several resolutions in response to Thursday's deadliest suicide attack on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir in which 40 troopers were killed and several others critically injured.

"We condemn terrorism in all forms and the support being given to it from across the border. Terrorism being actively encouraged by forces from across the border, India has displayed firmness, resilience in tackling it. We stand united in solidarity with our security forces in fighting terrorism, defending India's unity and integrity," said the resolution passed at the all-party meeting.
