After a 5 years gaps, SBI updated its rules and guidelines about minimum balance and charges deduction, and these rules are going to be effective from 1st April 2017. Here are highlights of major changes made by SBI- A minimum balance of Rs. 5000 is required to be maintained by metro city branch account holders. A Minimum balance of Rs. 3000, 2000 & 1000 is required to me maintained by urban, semi-urban and rural account holders. Cash deposit is free up to 3 times a month, after that an amount of Rs. 50 will be charged. The use of SBI cards in SBI ATMs is free for 5 times a month, after 5 times you will have to pay Rs. 10 per transaction. The use of other banks cards in SBI ATMs is free for 3 times a month, after 3 times you will have to pay Rs. 20 per transaction.
