Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court has delivered a major verdict in a rape case. The court has said that having sex by falsely promising marriage should be an offense of rape in law. A single bench of Justice Pradeep Kumar Srivastava said that women are objects of joy, this mindset of male supremacy has to be dealt with strictly so that women have a sense of security. The court said it was necessary to achieve the constitutional goal of eliminating gender inequality. The Allahabad High Court said in the remarks that nowadays it has become a trend, criminals have sex by luring them to marriage with the intention of cheating. Marriage is a big and important relationship among the majority of the female population of the country. Women easily fall prey to these conditions, which causes their sexual harassment. The court expressed concern over the increasing number of cases of sexual harassment of women and said that the offender understands he will escape by taking advantage of the law. The court also gave clear directions to the legislature to create a clear and special legal framework to deal with cases where criminals form a relationship by falsely promising marriage.
