HYDERABAD: A woman playing Bathukamma along with another lady was murdered by her husband who was angry over her relationship with another man. On Sunday night, the tragic occurrence took place at Veerapur in the Sangareddy district. The nine-day floral festival known as Bathukamma got underway in Telangana on Sunday. Women decorate the area with flowers while singing and dancing. While Swapna and the other village ladies were playing Bathukamma, her husband Y. Yellareddy beat her with an iron rod. The woman was hit in the head and passed away immediately. Following the assault, Yellareddy escaped. Police filed a report and started looking for the suspect. Yellareddy was indignant over Swapna's extramarital interactions with Ramesh. Yellareddy reportedly wed Manga, the older sister of Swapna, a few years ago, said the police. However, Manga killed herself by burning herself on fire a month after the wedding. After then, Gopal Reddy and Yellamma wed Yellareddy to Swapna, their second daughter. Six years of their marriage were spent in bliss. They have a son and a daughter. Later on, though, they started to have disagreements and frequently fought. Swapna had also deve;loped an adulterous relationship with another villager. Yellareddy warned her against it, but she persisted, so he came up with a scheme to get rid of her. He carried out the murder scheme on Sunday while she was playing Bathukamma with other villagers' women.
