The Indian government has banned 59 Chinese apps in the country due to privacy concerns. In an official statement, Meaty said "Recently upon receiving reliable inputs that such apps can become a threat to India's sovereignty and integrity. Commenting on the decision to ban TikTok, Chief of India Nikhil Gandhi said, "The Indian government has issued an interim order to block 59 apps including TikTok and we are in the process of complying with it." We have been invited to meet with the relevant government stakeholders for the opportunity to respond and submit clarifications. TikTok was leaking all data privacy through Indian law. Information on our users in India, including the Chinese government, cannot be shared with any foreign government. Tiktok has already been removed from both the Google Play store and the Apple App Store.
