Lahore: The United States has issued a Level Two travel alert to its passengers regarding a visit to eight Asian countries, including poliograph Pakistan. The US has instructed those traveling to these countries suffering from polio, especially adults, to keep life-saving booster days. The World Health Organization (WHO) has banned these countries and it will be necessary for every American adult to have this dose during this period. The United States issued new guidelines for travelers visiting polio-affected countries based on the recommendation of its federal agency, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to prevent the virus from spreading to other countries. The US issued a level-two alert to its passengers, stating, "The WHO recommends that these nations provide proof of polio medication to residential and long-term (four weeks or more) travelers before they leave the country." It also said that adults taking regular polio medication in childhood should take the Lifetime Adult Booster dose of polio before traveling to these countries. According to the CDC, apart from Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Verma, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea and the Philippines are among polio-affected countries.
