US opens front in South China Sea

Washington: Opening the front against China, the US has denied its claim on all areas of the South China Sea. Taking a major policy decision, Trump government has said that there is no legal basis for China's claim in the South China Sea and cannot unilaterally impose its will in the region. The US has said that there is no place for China's aggressive attitude in the 21st century.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said that the world will not allow Beijing to establish its maritime empire on the South China Sea. The US stands firmly with its Southeast Asian allies and will protect their sovereignty and their rights over resources under international law. The US rejects every attempt to occupy the South China Sea or any other large area and stands with the international community in protecting the sea areas. China has also responded to this announcement by the US.

A spokesman for the Chinese Embassy has said that the US statement on the South China Sea has intentionally tampered with the facts and the situation in the area has been exaggerated. This is an attempt to create a dispute between China and other countries and we strongly oppose it.
