Amit Shah visits Kashmir, meets Sarpanchs

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir.  In Srinagar, Home Minister and Governor Satyapal Malik have met village head (Sarpanch). Earlier, Home Minister Amit Shah met the family members of SHO Anantnag Arshad Khan who lost his life in the June 12 terror attack. During the visit, Home Minister Amit Shah joined hands to honour the family members of the martyrs and interacted with them.

SHO Arshad Khan was injured in a June 12 terror attack in Anantnag in south Kashmir. He was martyred while undergoing treatment at AIIMS in Delhi on June 16. Six security personnel were killed in the attack. Five CRPF personnel were also killed in the attack. Arshad Khan, a resident of Srinagar, joined the police service in 2002. He started his career as a sub-inspector. He was working as SHO at Anantnag when he was martyred. The family of Shaheed Arshad Khan has parents, wife Nilofar, five-year-old son Abulkhan Khan and two-year-old Danim Khan. There is also Arshad's younger brother who lived with him.

For your information, the terrorists on board the motorcycle attacked the CRPF patrolling party on the evening of June 12. Five CRPF personnel were killed in the attack. The injured included Arshad Khan. Even after the terrorists were shot, SHO Arshad Khan bravely stood on the front. One terrorist was also killed by the security forces in retaliation.
