Amit Shah to address a farmers' Rally in Khammam

Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to engage with the farming community of Telangana on the 27th of August in Khammam.

Highlighting a perceived neglect of farmers over the past nine years under the leadership of Chief Minister KCR, Telangana's BJP President G Kishan Reddy announced that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will conduct a rally in Khammam this Sunday. The rally aims to address a spectrum of concerns afflicting the state's farmers.

Shah's visit is being seen in the context of the BJP's preparations for the impending assembly elections in the state later this year. "In the last 9 years, the farmers in Telangana have experienced a notable lack of attention and support from CM KCR and the BRS government. Inclement weather and natural disasters have dealt severe blows to the farmers, causing substantial losses. The promised loan waivers have not been extended to the farmers of Telangana. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is organizing this event to delve into these pressing issues that directly affect our farming community," further added Reddy.

Sources within the BJP indicate that the rally is expected to draw in hundreds of thousands of attendees. Shah's previous attempt to address the rally in June was thwarted due to Cyclone Biparjoy.

Beyond the rally, Amit Shah's visit to the state will encompass meetings with senior party leaders, aimed at assessing the party's readiness for the upcoming polls. The agenda includes a comprehensive review of on-ground reports and strategic discussions centered around the assembly elections. BJP leaders contend that there is a palpable "anti-incumbency" sentiment directed towards the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government in Telangana.

"All segments of society, including employees, students, and farmers, are expressing dissatisfaction with the current administration. The people of Telangana are increasingly turning their gaze towards the BJP, seeking a robust governance model that can fulfill their aspirations and liberate the state from the grip of corruption and dynastic politics," asserted a party spokesperson.

"We stand committed to supporting the people of Telangana and ensuring the realization of their aspirations and ambitions," the spokesperson added.

In the lead-up to the assembly elections, the ruling BRS party has already unveiled the majority of its candidates. The electoral landscape is shaping up for a three-way contest among the BRS, Congress, and the BJP
