BIHAR: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address a mega rally called "Jan Bhavna Mahasabha" in Purnia, Bihar, today. In a bid to set the tone for the 2024 General Elections, in which Bihar controls 40 Lok Sabha seats and the BJP is likely to engage the Mahagathbandhan directly, Shah will begin a two-day tour to the state today. "The public is quite enthusiastic about this "Jan Bhavna Mahasabha." Along with BJP workers, the general public has also made preparations for the success of this massive event ", Nityanand Rai, MoS Home, said in a statement. Attacking the Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar, Rai claimed that the "collapse of law and order" in the state after the election of the new administration has enraged the people. The BJP cadre is pleased with Nitish Kumar leaving the alliance, said former deputy chief minister and Rajya Sabha member Sushil Modi, who also added that the party will now be able to win more seats in the state. "Amit Shah's rally today will promote BJP leaders and cadres. Party no longer requires JD backing (U). In the general election of 2024, the faces of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are attractive enough to win the majority of Lok Sabha seats" he said. With the help of the RJD, he said that Nitish Kumar "hatched a plan" to implement the "Jungle Raj part-2" in Bihar. However, he added, "Tejashwi Yadav forgets that times have changed and the people of Bihar are well aware that crime, corruption, and nepotism are no longer acceptable in an era of BJP-led NDA administration at the Centre. Amit Shah will set the tone for the party for the next general elections with today's rally, said another BJP senior who spoke on the condition of anonymity. The BJP plans to win over 35 seats out of the state's 40 seats. Several state BJP leaders, including Union Ministers, MPs, and MLAs, are camped out in neighbouring districts including Purnia, Kishanganj, Katihar, and Araria for several days in order to organise for Shah's rally. They are also engaging with locals and leaders to ensure the success of the rallies today. Purnia, Kishanganj, Katihar, and Araria are the four districts that make up the Seemanchal region of north Bihar, where a substantial Muslim population can have an impact on a political party's candidate's performance in both the Assembly and General Elections. The four districts border West Bengal and Bangladesh on both sides. Four Parliamentary seats and 24 Assembly seats are represented by the four districts. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP only took home one seat, Araria, while the JD(U) won two seats, Purnia and Katihar, while the Congress party took home the Kishanganj seat. Both the BJP and JD(U) participated in the 2019 elections as allies. Shah will also speak at Bihar BJP Core Committee meeting at Kishanganj's Mata Gujri University.
