Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has arrived in Kolkata on a two-day visit to inspect the preparations of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of next year's assembly elections in West Bengal. Shah's visit is considered to be very important among the political enthusiasts in Bengal. It is reported that many rebel leaders of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) can join the BJP during Shah's rally. Leaders of several parties will join BJP in the presence of Amit Shah. It is being told that Suvendu Adhikari, the strongman leader who left the post of cabinet minister in the Trinamool Congress and the state cabinet and some disgruntled Trinamool Congress leaders like Sheelabhadra Dutta and Jitendra Tiwari, will join the BJP during Shah's visit to Bengal. State BJP unit president Dilip Ghosh said that Shah and party president J.P. Nadda will visit Bengal every month till the assembly elections are held. According to information received from sources, Shah will address a public meeting in Midnapore on Saturday, where many TMC leaders may join the BJP. It is reported that not only TMC but about 10 MLAs of other parties are also going to be BJP today. These include former TMC minister and MLA Suvendu Adhikari. These MLAs include TMC, CPM and Congress MLAs.
