Amit Shah will hold a 'Nishad Samaj Jan Sabha' in UP on Friday

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to hold 'Nishad Samaj Jan Sabha' in Uttar Pradesh on Friday (December 17),  since many political parties in the state are trying to woo castes beyond their core vote base so as to set social dynamics in their favour ahead of Assembly elections months away.

On December 17 (Friday), during his day-long visit to Uttar Pradesh, the Home Minister will attend a "Nishad Samaj Jan Sabha" in Lucknow. "Amit Shah is expected to attend the event between 2 and 3 p.m.," a source said on condition of anonymity.

In addition, between 3.45 and 4.45 p.m., the Home Minister will open 23 new branches of the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Bank. During the event, Shah will dedicate 29 godowns of the Uttar Pradesh State Warehousing Corporation. Between 4.45 and 6.40 p.m., the Home Minister will attend the commencement of Sahakar Bharati's seventh National Convention.

Shah's travel to Uttar Pradesh to attend the 'Nishad Jan Sabh' comes after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Nishad (Nirbal Indian Shoshit Humara Aam Dal) party, led by Sanjay Nishad, formally formed an alliance in September. The BJP claimed it was in contact with other small parties to fight the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh in 2022.
