Bhojpuri star Amrapali Dubey recently appeared in her sister Akanksha Dubey's podcast, where she revealed many secrets related to her life. During this conversation, her sister questioned Amrapali about her weight and body shaming. To this, Amrapali replied candidly and said that if she loses weight, she will do it on her own will and not on someone's insistence. She jokingly said, "I don't listen to my father, so why would I listen to anyone else?"
Amrapali's answer on weight and body shaming: Akanksha asked Amrapali if she has ever faced body shaming due to her weight? To this, Amrapali said, "I love my body very much. I do not have any health problem like diabetes or thyroid. I want to lose weight only so that I do not have to face such problems in the future." She clarified that she will not lose weight to meet anyone's beauty standard.
"I don't care": Amrapali further added, "If someone feels that I don't fit their standards as an actress, it doesn't matter to me. Such people should cast actors who fit their beauty standards. There are many people in the industry who are ready to work. I welcome them with open arms. If they have a problem with my looks, they can work with other actors."
"I am like this": Amrapali also said, "I want to be the way I am. I do what I know and focus on that. If I want to change my body, it will be my own decision and not under pressure from anyone. If people say that you have to look a certain way to survive in this industry, I will never give in to such pressure." When Akanksha joked that her father must be watching the show, Amrapali laughingly replied, "I listen to my father, but I don't want to change anything about myself."
Experience of dealing with body shaming: Amrapali told that she has faced body shaming and has been criticized for it many times. However, she blocks and deletes the comments of the trollers. She has many fan pages, which keep replying to the trollers on her behalf.
Dialogue from Mohabbatein: At the end of this conversation, Amrapali also recited the famous dialogue from Shah Rukh Khan's film 'Mohabbatein', "If someone loves you, they should love you the way you are. If someone loves you after changing you, then it is not love, it is a deal."
