Today, India and Kazakhstan has signed an agreement to amend the bilateral tax treaty in which information exchanged between both the countries can be shared with other law enforcement agencies. The official statement stated that "The protocol to amend the existing Double Taxation Avoidance Convention (DTAC) between the two countries provides internationally-accepted standards for effective exchange of information on tax matters". Earlier,in 1996 the DTAC between the India and Kazakhstan was signed so that double taxation can be avoided.
