21 priests of Tirupati temple tests Covid-19 positive

Chennai: Coronavirus infection is spreading very fast among the staff and priests of the famous Tirupati temple of South India. 21 priests of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) have been found corona infected. In view of the deteriorating health of one of them, he has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai.

So far 158 cases of corona have been registered in TTD. Most of them are POTU employees or APSP security personnel. However, now the temple priests are also said to be suffering from Coronavirus and their number is increasing continuously. Mr. Pedda Jeyangar Swamy is also being said to be ill. Apart from them, there has been news of another head priest of the temple suffering from Corona. The local administration says that due to the opening of temples and religious places, incidents of infection are coming out.

Employees working in Tirumala are most affected by Corona. The administration says that if immediate effective steps are not taken, the situation may be uncontrollable. 34 thousand 884 new cases of corona have been registered in the last 24 hours across the country. In 24 hours, 671 people have died due to this disease. On giving information, the Health Ministry said that the total number of confirmed cases of corona in the country has gone up to 1038716. So far 653751 patients have returned home after recovering. The total number of deaths from Corona has reached 26273.
