Visakhapatnam: A 20-year-old girl from Raichoti town in Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh was set on fire by her parents. The girl's only fault was that she refused to marry as per her parents' wishes. Raichiti Circle Inspector Raju said, "Tasim, 20, from Kothapalli area of Raichoti city, said in his statement that her parents had been asking for a relationship for her marriage for a long time, but she continued to reject them all. She loved a boy, but her parents were against it and pressuring her to marry someone else. This led to several disputes in the house" The girl in a statement to the police alleged that her parents and younger brother Tajuddin poured petrol on her and set fire on her. The woman's sister took her to a government hospital where she has been admitted for treatment. "On receiving information, we rushed to the hospital and recorded the statement of the girl," police said. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against the girl's parents and younger brother. We will arrest them soon.
