Users will see the English-speaking Google Translate whenever they're reading text in German, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese or such languages. Tapping on this Google Translate button will open the translation pop-up, which will be written on top of google translate. One tab will show translations in the original text and the user's language in another tab. This new Translate feature is similar to Google's 'Tap to Translate' feature found in the OCR edition of Android Pie. The user will also be able to listen to the text found after the translation by tapping on the loudspeaker icon here. While Google Translate is confirmed to be in a recent screen, the feature is believed to be pixel exclusive. This new feature is seen in the Pixel launcher and is called 'Proactive Sulation'. Being pixel exclusive doesn't mean that the feature won't be available to the rest of the devices that receive Android Queue updates. Google offers many features of its Android OS to devices in the first Pixel series. They are later included in the Android update and given to other devices.

For your information, the Google Translate feature that appears in the recent screen is considered to be the same as the one that all Android users will get. Google Translate is already available in Android, but it's exclusive to google Chrome web browser right now. This translates only when chrome is used by text that appears on a Web page. Google is now making it easier to reach more users by offering the option of translation on a recent screen. It also has a separate app on the Play Store and supports Indian languages like Kannada, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
