Dhanbad: A Dumka-like incident was averted in the Govindpur police station area of Dhanbad Koylaanchal in Jharkhand. Two minor sisters were sleeping in Kurwa village. Then suddenly a miscreant entered the room with petrol. The criminal assaulted the girls and threatened to burn them with petrol. The young women started shouting. The girls' family members said, "Both the sisters were sleeping in the house at night. Crossing the boundary of the house, a boy went to both of their rooms. The door to the room is broken. When the two sisters saw the boy, they protested. On this, the miscreant assaulted both of them and also tried to kill them by strangulating them. The youth then poured petrol on the two girls and threatened to set them on fire. Due to this, the girls raised their voices, which woke up the others in the house. Then, the young man fled from there and left the petrol there. The victim reached Govindpur police station with the same petrol bottle and complained to the police about the matter. Meanwhile, a panchayat was held several times in the village to hush up the matter. In the panchayat, a fine of Rs 5,000 was imposed on the criminal person, which the criminal agreed to pay. When the victim's family demanded action from the police, the police registered a case and started an investigation. The victims have demanded that the culprit be arrested. DSP Amar Kumar Pandey said, "An FIR has been registered after receiving the complaint of the case. Since the girls are minors, a case has been registered under the POCSO Act. The matter is being investigated, action will be taken on the basis of the investigation.
