The government is preparing a plan for the construction of poor houses. It has decided to train specially from field level staff to divisional level officers involved in housing. The government will undertake the construction of 15.60 lakh houses in the state under the 'Navratnas - Houses for All Poor' scheme. The government has already issued instructions to use the services of the village secretariat staff in this process. The village and ward volunteers, welfare/education assistant/ward welfare development secretary, engineering assistant/ward facility (amenities) secretaries will be specially trained on the roles, responsibilities and duties. They will be assigned key responsibilities such as indent, material supply, M book recording, payments, recommendation, along with the details of the beneficiary. The Housing Department has taken steps to know the details of the beneficiaries with the QR code. This includes the beneficiary's house degree, layout name, village survey number and plot number allotted. When the QR code is scanned, the scheme, the home value, the housing ID number, the job card number, the bank account of the beneficiary, and how much bill was paid. If the bill is delayed, the reasons for the delay and the stage of construction of houses can be known. The details of the cash payment will be entered in the passbook given to the beneficiary along with the material spawning the house. The bills are paid at basement level, roof level, slab level, finishing level and cash details paid for 90 days under rural employment guarantee scheme. The concerned staff are also taking steps to keep the phone numbers in the pass book so that the beneficiaries can immediately resolve any problem. The Housing Department has made necessary arrangements for special training of housing and secretariat staff at KL University in Vijayawada on 18th and 19th of this month to create awareness about the construction of houses. This month, the orientation program was organized at the division level. The district collectors were entrusted with the responsibility of making 100 per cent staff attending the training program.
