Apple is reportedly developing a new Wearable Tag with a fitness tracking component

USA: According to reports, Apple is developing a new "Wearable Tag" that will concentrate on tracking fitness. The AirTag-like device, which can be attached to clothing or various body parts and will be furnished with a variety of sensors to detect physical activity, is described in a recent European patent application. Let's look more closely at how the device will operate.

After its 2021 debut, AirTag quickly gained popularity. It enables users to keep tabs on their keys, wallet, pets, and luggage. The tech giant is currently working on a wearable gadget with a primary focus on tracking fitness and health that may be similar to AirTags.

According to the patent, Apple is developing new wearable technology to broaden its ecosystem of hardware aimed at improving health.

The Wearable Tag will be able to track physical movements, detect falls, and even monitor posture and sun exposure. Depending on the health-related function it is being used for, it will have a variety of sensors, allowing for thorough data collection. Users will be able to place the device on various body parts, including their hands, legs, neck, and chest, according to the patent document.

By connecting the Wearable Tag to an iPhone, Apple Watch, or iPad, users will be able to control it. The paired device will aid in locating the tag and provide users with a variety of options for tracking their fitness and health. After gathering data from the sensors, the Wearable Tag would send it to the paired device for analysis.

The Wearable Tag's design is also hinted at in the patent document. Plastic, glass, metal, fabric, or a combination of these materials could be used to create it. One illustration shows the tags spread out across the user's body in order to track their entire range of motion. This feature may be useful for keeping track of physical therapy, athletic training, and other activities.

In 2020, Apple first submitted a patent application for this wearable tag under the name of an employer. It is now categorised as an Apple patent application, though. We are unsure at this time whether the tag will become a real product or remain a concept
