While every smartwatch has some degree of smartphone integration, cellular-connected watches function almost completely independently of your phone. However, cellular watches also require a smartphone for initial setup and configuration. This last point restricts the Watch Ultra's audience to iPhone users. Additionally, this is the first Apple Watch to be offered in titanium only, which was done to reduce the weight of the larger device.
