Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh University will soon get a new Vice Chancellor. For this, the University has sought the application for the post of Vice Chancellor. Accordingly, the secretary-to-governor has issued the request for the application on August 29. For this post, the candidate can apply till September 14. Prof. Rajendra Singh Chouhan was temporarily in charge of this post from last month. The state government entrusted this responsibility to him till the new appointment. After the submission of application till September 14, there will be a search committee meeting, in which applicants' eligibility will be reviewed. According to a news agency, on September 18, a meeting of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Principal Secretary Education will be held under the chairmanship of Rajyapal Acharya Debavratt. It will decide on the appointment of new and permanent VC. To process offline, the applicant will have to submit the application to the Secretary-to-Governor by September 14 and for the online process, one must apply by visiting governorsecy-hp@nic.in. The terms and conditions of professors applying for the VC in the University of Himachal Pradesh are applicable. Under the UGC Regulations Act 2010 and the HQ Act 1970, the applicant should have 10 years of experience in the field of higher education in the professor's post. The applicant must have five years experience in any faculty or department. The applicant should also have experience in any Research Institute Board of Studies, Academic Council, EC, Senate or Board of Management.
