AR Rahman gets his first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine

As the Indian subcontinent is putting on a fight against the ongoing second wave of the coronavirus, vaccination drives are being organised on the side to encourage people to get jabbed. While celebrities have been speaking about their vaccination experience on social media to encourage followers to get their shots, musician AR Rahman was the latest to do the same.

The actor got his first jab of the COVID-19 vaccination on Sunday, and posted a picture along with his son, AR Ameen. "Vaccinated #1stjabdone???? #covishield have you?" he captioned his post. Recent celebrities to get vaccinated include Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan, Vani Bhojan, Nakkhul, Keerthy Suresh, among other Kollywood celebs.

The Oscar award-winning musician's '99 Songs' recently got a theatrical release, post which it has found its way to an OTT platform. The romance musical marks AR Rahman's debut as a producer and a co-writer, and stars Ehan Bhat and Edilsy Vargas.
