You can all see the actor shared a group photo of Surinder Kapoor which features many actors. In fact, Surinder Kapoor was born on December 23, 1925, and passed away in September 2011. Yesterday, Arjun recalled his grandfather and told about his journey.

He put up a black and white photo of his grandfather and wrote in the caption, 'Happy birthday Dadu, Surinder Kapoor, I came to Mumbai in 1950. I was 27 at the time. I was from Peshawar. I told Prithviraj Kapoor that I wanted to come to Mumbai to work, so he asked me to come. When I came to Mumbai, I didn't think I would join films. But Prithviraj was very good. As soon as I came to Mumbai by Frontier Mail, he took me to K Asif and got me a job as assistant director on the sets of Mughal-e-Azam. I knew I could never become a director because I spent most of the time playing cards.'

Arjun further wrote, 'Since the film was being made for 10 years, I left it midway. I had a good friendship with Shammi Kapoor and Geeta Bali. It was he who helped me become a producer. I could have made my first production with Madhubala in 1963, ever since I saw you. But I told Geeta that if I ever make a film, it will be with her. Geeta helped me get a financier. I got a good crew because of her. I cast Pradeep Kumar who was no longer giving hits and Geeta, who was on the verge of retirement. But my film didn't do much. In fact, I couldn't give a single hit throughout my career but still, financiers and distributors invested their money in my projects. After living in Mumbai for three or four years, I returned to Peshawar for marriage. When I came back to Mumbai, I moved to Sion and later to Chembur. I never had to struggle because I was always working. But I was not a very successful producer.'

Apart from him, Anil Kapoor shared a photo of his father Surinder Kapoor on social media on the special occasion of his birthday and captioned it as 'Happy birthday dad. Every day I remember you and always love you, I hope I have made you proud.'
