Srinagar: The Central Government announced the repeal of Section 370 from Jammu and Kashmir on August 5 this year. The government can now start postpaid mobile phone service on Saturday after 68 days, relaxing the communication ban. The decision has been taken a day after the ban on the arrival of tourists in the Valley. Officials said that initially the postpaid and later prepaid service would be started. Consumers will have to get verified for postpaid mobile service. Consumers will have to wait a bit longer for internet services in the valley. There are 66 lakh mobile subscribers in the valley, out of which nearly 40 lakh have postpaid facilities.
