Baba Ramdev is adorable for both Hindus and Muslims, taught communal harmony

Jaipur: The birth anniversary of Rajasthan's folk god Ramdev, also known as Ramsa Pir, is celebrated on Bhadrapad Shukla Dashami. It is believed that Baba Ramdev took a 'Samadhi' on this day.

The ancient name of Ramdevara is 'Runecha'. The fair held here is considered a symbol of communal harmony in the state, because Ramdev ji is considered to be a worshiper of both Hindu and Muslim communities. A grand temple built in 1931 by Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner is located near the tomb of Ramdevra. A huge fair is organized here every year in which millions of devotees of Baba Ramdev reach. The thirteen clap dance performed by women of 'Kamad' caste is the main attraction on this occasion.

During the fair, Baba's temple has four to five km long lines for darshan and apart from the district administration, various voluntary organizations provide selfless food, water and health services for the convenience of the visitors. Devotees do not forget to first visit the temple of Baba's Guru in Mysoreia hill in Jodhpur.
