Many countries of the world, including India, are inhabited by tribals (World Tribal Day 2021). Their lifestyle, diet, and customs, and dress are different from others. Tribal people are still lagging far behind all over the world as society is cut off from the mainstream. However, a number of government programs and private programs are being conducted in the country and the world to connect them with the mainstream of society and move them forward. Coming to India, the tribal community has contributed a lot to the country's independence. Birsa Munda played a key role in Jharkhand and Chhota Nagpur region in the freedom struggle. More than 90 countries of the world are inhabited by tribal communities. The tribal community worldwide has a population of about 370 million, of which about 5,000 are different tribal communities and have 7,000 languages. Even then, the tribal people are struggling to save their existence, culture, and respect. Today, due to various reasons like racism, apartheid, liberalization all over the world, the tribal community is struggling to save their existence and respect. About 28 percent of Jharkhand's total population belongs to tribal communities. These include people from more than thirty-two tribal groups like Asurs and Santhals, to the Banjara, Bihor, Chero, Gond, Ho, Khond, Lohra, Mai Pahariya, Munda, Oraon, Kol, etc. That is why, in addition to uplifting the tribal society and protecting their culture and respect, 9th August is celebrated as International Tribal Day (World Tribal Day) every year to promote and encourage tribal tribes.
